This Month: Miami Art Week Recap

A week of discovery, dialogue, and unforgettable art.

Miami was an absolute whirlwind—and one of our most inspiring Art Weeks to date. RCG Art Advisory had the pleasure of guiding our collectors through museums, private collections, artist studios, Art Basel Miami Beach, and its satellite fairs. Below, we share highlights from an exceptional week on the ground.

Studio Visits & Museum Highlights

We began the week with a private tour of Loreil Beltan’s studio, generously hosted by Lehmann Maupin, followed by an intimate walkthrough of Woody De Othello’s new exhibition coming forth by day at the Pérez Art Museum, led by the artist himself. Monumental ceramic and bronze works sit alongside richly glazed paintings. The exhibition incorporates sound and smell, creating an environment that feels both intimate and otherworldly.  Multiple works of his were placed quickly across fair presentations, demonstrating the sustained, institutionally driven momentum behind his practice.

Across the city, Miami’s institutions and galleries offered standout programming—The Bass, PAMM, ICA Miami, the Rubell Museum, and the Margulies Warehouse—with a particularly memorable presentation at Marquez Art Projects.

Fair Week Begins: Untitled & Special Events

Tuesday opened with the VIP Preview at Untitled, a fantastic start to the week. It offers a sweeping beachfront location, an exceptional VIP lounge, and a strong mix of commercial discoveries at accessible price points. That evening, we celebrated the publication of the Haas Brothers’ new monograph, Haas Brothers: Uncanny Valley, with Marianne Boesky Gallery, followed by a beautiful dinner hosted by Pace Gallery.

Art Basel Miami Beach: VIP Day & A Major Acquisition

Wednesday was devoted entirely to the VIP opening of Art Basel Miami Beach alongside a longtime client, culminating in an exciting acquisition (one with outside museum interest!).

Experiencing the works in person brought an entirely new dimension to the selection process, and reconnecting with many of our trusted gallerists added depth and insight to the day.

The evening closed with a spirited dinner celebrating Lala Curio hosted by Perrier Jouet and Chateau Sainte Marguerite. This exquisite event offered a beautiful setting to experience their couture artisanship firsthand and explore new art and design concepts to bring to our hospitality clients.

Introducing New Collectors to the Fair

On Thursday, we led a guided tour of Art Basel Miami Beach for YPO, introducing emerging collectors to the fair’s landscape and shaping acquisition strategies throughout the day. An artist talk by Pace Gallery artist Alejandro Piñeiro Bello accompanied a gorgeous lunch at Blue Ribbon Sushi. An afternoon return to the fair floor rounded out a full and inspiring program.

NADA & A Powerful Studio Visit with Kennedy Yanko

Friday concluded with visits to NADA and an exceptional studio session with Kennedy Yanko. NADA features some of our favorite emerging galleries.  Several early-career presentations at the fair saw sellouts or significant traction on opening day—affirming collectors’ ongoing interest in the $10,000–$50,000 segment.

Kennedy Yanko is a sculptor and installation artist working with found metal and paint skin. Blending abstract-expressionist physicality with a surrealist sensitivity to the unseen, Yanko’s work examines the forces that shape, conceal, and animate human experience. We were delighted to offer our collectors a behind the scenes tour of her studio and process, beyond her incredible work she is an inspiring human.  There was strong demand across both primary and secondary conversations this week, reinforcing the significance of her materially driven, process-forward approach.

Continuing the Conversation

As we return to California energized by a week of remarkable art and meaningful engagements, we look forward to sharing more insights, acquisitions, and opportunities with you.

If Miami sparked interest in building or expanding your collection—or if you’d like a tailored advisory experience at an upcoming fair—our team would be delighted to connect.
