New year. new name. Same commitment.

A New Chapter
We begin the year with a refreshed identity—one defined by clarity of purpose and a renewed visual identity that reflects how we work today. Our new branding distills what has always defined Ryan Art Advisory: thoughtful guidance, long-term relationships, and a deeply considered approach to collecting.
This evolution comes alongside continued growth in our client base, expanded international engagement, and a sharpened focus on strategic collection-building. We’re looking forward to sharing more as the year unfolds. Our new chapter begins online at ryanartadvisory.com.
Art Fairs Ahead: Join Us!
January and February mark the opening of the art world’s annual calendar, and we’ll be on the ground advising clients at two key fairs:
FOG Design+Art Fair | San Francisco | January 21st - 24th
An essential West Coast fair known for its curatorial rigor and strong cross-section of contemporary art and design. We’ll be navigating presentations, identifying standout works, and supporting acquisitions across emerging and established artists.
Frieze | Los Angeles | February 26th - March 1st
One of the most dynamic moments on the global art calendar. Frieze LA offers direct access to leading galleries, museum-quality works, and artists shaping current discourse.
Clients are invited to join us for private walkthroughs, targeted fair strategies, and real-time advisory support. If you’re interested in attending either fair with RAA, we encourage you to reach out early to coordinate schedules and objectives.
Why Work with an Art Advisor
Understanding the contemporary art market requires more than taste—it demands context, access, and informed decision-making. An art advisor serves as an independent advocate, guiding collectors through each stage of the collecting process with clarity and intention.
At Ryan Art Advisory, our work is defined by:
Education Building aesthetic and market fluency so clients collect with confidence. We educate through direct engagement—accompanying clients to art fairs, curated gallery visits exhibitions, and artist studios, and providing ongoing insight into artists, movements, materials, and market dynamics.
Strategic Sourcing & Access Leveraging long-standing global relationships to identify exceptional works and secure access to primary-market opportunities and artists beyond public view, including hard-to-acquire works and private studio visits.
Informed Acquisition Advising on acquisitions that balance intuition with long-term relevance. Each recommendation is supported by rigorous research into the artist’s practice, career trajectory, and market context.
Curation & Collection Development Shaping cohesive collections with a clear narrative—whether building from the ground up or refining an existing body of work—by identifying what is most meaningful to each client and aligning acquisitions accordingly.
Installation & Stewardship Overseeing logistics, installation, conservation guidance, and ongoing care to ensure artworks are thoughtfully integrated and responsibly preserved.
Independent, Fiduciary Guidance Providing objective advice free from conflicts of interest, with transparency at every stage of the advisory relationship.
Thoughtful advising transforms collecting from a series of transactions into a considered, enduring practice—one that reflects both the collector and the space it inhabits.
In The Advisory: Anabel Juárez
We are pleased to present work by Anabel Juárez on view through the advisory through the end of the month.
Juárez’s practice engages themes of identity, labor, and memory through materially driven abstraction. Working across painting and textile-informed surfaces, her compositions balance structure with vulnerability—offering a quiet, sustained presence rather than immediate resolution.
Her work is particularly compelling within a contemporary collection for its restraint and depth. Subtle shifts in color, texture, and form reveal layered narratives tied to migration, domestic space, and cultural inheritance—qualities that reward long-term engagement and thoughtful placement within a broader collection.
We continue to follow Juárez’s evolving practice closely and view her work as a strong acquisition consideration: conceptually rigorous, materially intelligent, and positioned for enduring relevance. Works are available for private viewing through the end of the month.
We look forward to seeing many of you in the months ahead and to continuing the conversation—at the fairs, in studios, and in your homes.
Should you be interested in selling or acquiring works, or having your collection appraised, we would be pleased to speak with you in confidence. We have a selection of works available privately and would be glad to share further details upon request. Reach us directly at advisory@ryanartadvisory.com.
