Tessa Greene O’Brien / the presence of paint
March - May 2025
Tessa Greene O’Brien (b. 1982, St. George, ME) is a painter and curator whose autobiographical, sun-drenched landscapes and memory-laden imagery trace her rural Maine roots. She has mounted solo exhibitions at Dowling Walsh Gallery and exhibited widely, including at the Portland Museum of Art. Her work has been supported by residencies and fellowships with Haystack, the Lunder Institute, and others. Executed in stained and dyed pigments, her paintings blur image and surface toward emotional resonance.
