Ryan Dobrowski / the presence in paint

Ryan Dobrowski (b. 1980, Eugene, OR) made his New York solo debut with Pink Noise at Scroll NYC in 2024, featuring atmospheric, rhythm-based landscapes and still lifes. His paintings, marked by short brushstrokes and ambient hues, translate his experiences as a drummer into visual rhythm. Influenced by artists such as Matisse, Avery, and Morandi, Dobrowski constructs scenes from memory and place that feel both intuitive and immersive.
